Much of my personal patriotism comes from the honor of having worn the Red, White, & Blue uniform for the United States, racing for the U.S. National Rowing Team at the World Championship Level back in 1999. We beat Germany, Russia, and the rest of the field while racing in Hamburg, Germany. This challenge which was the culmination of 8 years of dedication to the sport also taught me some of life's greatest lessons.
